E2E Experience - Youth Matters

Jane was a young person who had a lot of problems in her life, with anorexia and drinking problems being a part of it. When she left school, she received mixed exam results ranging from D to U and decided to visit Connexions who told her about the Entry to Employment (e2e) programme. Jane was shown around Youth Matters, underwent a short interview and was awarded a place on the programme.

During Jane’s time on the programme she learned to budget, which she found very interesting as it related to “real life”. She also addressed her drinking and eating problems with the help and backing of Youth Matters' trainers and they helped to improve her confidence. Jane went on to achieve a qualification that included Food Hygiene, Health & Safety and First Aid.

After the programme, Jane went back to study for her GCSEs and continues to go back to Youth Matters with her news, good or bad, as they always have the time to listen. "They are trustworthy, non-judgemental and friendly" said Jane.
