Do you want to know how to get into the Police Force?
20 students from Biddenham Upper and Cardinal Newman High Schools attended a seminar at Police Headquarters, Kempston to find out. Prior to the visit, Emily Alleyne, Diversity Recruiting Officer visited the schools for a pre-brief and careers talk.

The morning started with a presentation by Jenny Goodman and a video on the Police Cadet scheme followed by a tour and explanation of the Call Handling unit and Firearms unit. The morning concluded with the students gathered round a patrol car and a talk by the Traffic Police who removed the equipment they carry and provided a demonstration of a ‘stinger’ and a breathalyser.

Our thanks to Emily for organising the event and providing answers to all the questions the students asked and a goodie bags full of career information.
What did the students and school say, “All of the students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and came back full of enthusiasm for the Police. I feel that these events help the students with their choices for the future and outline what jobs can be obtained within the Police force.”
