Young Apprentices visit T&E Nevilles Luton

T & E Neville Ltd, based in Marsh Road Luton, hosted a day for Lutons' young apprentices enroled on the BTEC 1st diploma in construction & the built environment.

T&E Neville were first established in Luton in 1875, when brothers Thomas and Edward founded the company, and are responsible for constructing the majority of the large buildings built in the town between 1900 and 1930.

After a visit to the joinery shop, the company took the opportunity to explain about the skills they would look for in a potential Apprentice and the future career paths available. This was followed by a programme called Community Challenge which looks at how community areas are built and budgeted.

What did the students think?

"I learned a lot, it opened my eyes to the different opportunities in the construction industry"............"The tour of the joinery department was really good and we looked at the tools they use".
