Students from Ashcroft, Lealands and Cardinal Newman High schools have just finished the first year of their two year Campus Luton Apprenticeship in Construction (CLAC) course for 14-16 yr olds.
When completed, the students will gain a BTEC Diploma in construction equivalent to several GCSE’s.
The course is run as a day release from their school with Barnfield College. Students that started on the course in 2006 and have just finished their second year ALL earned their BTEC diploma in construction with two students passing with distinction and three with merit. The display day allowed the students to create a physical piece of course work that could demonstrate their knowledge and skill to both parents and peers.
