Welcome to Bedfordshire's Children's University
New dates for 2010 is the week 9-14 August 2010 and
16-20 August 2010 for Academic and Sport.

The Bedfordshire Children's University is 11 years old! It offers a fantastic opportunity to develop abilities, skills and talents a longside like-minded children. Bedfordshire Children's University brings together more than 1200 children this year, nominated by state and independent schools in Bedfordshire, Mid and South Beds to take part in a week-long programme of master-classes.

In the Children's University week, itself, we have 6 strands this year - Academic, Technology, Creative Arts, Performing Arts, Sports and new this year Science to cater for the very diverse talents and aspirations of our children. We work with teachers, lecturers, tutors, professional artists, performers and writers to devise courses, which will stimulate, excite, inspire and extend the potential of children. We give our course leader the freedom to plan programmes without National Curriculum constraints. Our aim is to ensure that the children have one of the best extra-curricular learning opportunity of their school year and that they have fun. All places on Bedfordshire Children's University are by invitation only, based on the nominations of school staff.

We are members of the National Childrens University now which means that children can receive national certificates for achieved learning hours which means for 30 learning hours bronze, 65 hours silver and 100 hours gold. These learning hours can be accumulated with attendance at the Frontiers Club etc. Please click on the dowload link below for the full programme an application form.
