This challenging design activity teaches students about engineering design as they construct an efficient and effective virtual bridge.

The students will use computer software in order to design a bridge to carry a two-lane highway across a river.

The challenge involves problem solving through design and the application of mathematics, science, and technology.

This is a very high quality structures programme made available to us by CITB Construction Skills. Students will use good physics and maths skills to design bridges that will hold the weight of traffic but be economical to build.

Offered as a workshop for KS3/4 students in your school's IT facility, it will require a short download to each PC. This normally takes no more than 5 minutes per PC and should be done prior to the day of the workshop.
