In this interesting workshop, pupils are challenged to think about the renovation and re-use of old buildings, thinking through the ways in which the space can be used.

A simple card model of a building is created and pupils are challenged to design the way in which floor space is used inside.

Pupils need to be able to cut and glue effectively although the discussion surrounding this process is more important than the precision with which buildings and floor plans are created.

Space needed - classroom or hall with sufficient tables and chairs for pupils to work in groups or four at a table.
