St Joseph's Infant School - Luton - had a very successful Science Week. The children and teachers thoroughly enjoyed all the different activities.
Year 1 made:
- a rainbow with different types of paper that children had to sort into different textures before arranging them into rainbow colours
- Trees for the rain forest
- Flower made on paper plates with tissue paper and lentils and learnt about the different parts of a plant
- 3-D root vegetables made from paper mache and a bit pot of vegetable soup made from root vegetables.
Year 2 made:
- Sinking sand made from cornflour and pebble creatures to test the sinking sand and find out what happens
- Wind socks made from plastic shopping bags to check wind direction
- Parachutes and windmills to learn about forces
